Caringbah South Duplex

This duplex in Caringbah, Sutherland Shire, typifies the recent transition of Sutherland Shire Architecture from low to medium density. The proposal takes advantage of the sloping site by locating the garage areas off the street, with elevated bedrooms and living areas above which enjoy views over Burraneer Bay. The concrete and timber base provide an elegant platform or stage for the two dwellings above which have been designed to appear as separate dwellings. The area presents an ever changing streetscape, and as such the architectural response here was to respond to the client brief whilst also nodding to the past. The material pallet of timber, cladding and concrete, used in a simple and contemporary way, offers a timeless response for this Sutherland Shire duplex build.
